There are about a billion PC gamers in the world. Considering such an audience, it’s even a little strange that no one has released a similar product before. Meet the first ever purely gaming browser Opera GX, which today goes into early access. According to the developers, the browser is designed to make PC gaming more productive and flexible.
The main feature that allows you to identify the browser as a game browser is the ability to severely limit its consumption of system resources. On the GX Control panel on the left, the user can limit the use of RAM and CPU by the browser.
Many gamers prefer to play and listen to music online at the same time. In this case, the YouTube tab is often the source of music. The developers of Opera GX promise that the player will not have to close their new browser to free up RAM.
There are other game and near-game features in the browser. For example, on the left panel there is a quick access to the game streaming service Twitch. However, Twitch can be disabled, and instead some integrated messenger can be added to the panel.
Opera GX is quite different from the classic browser design. The color theme of the browser can be synchronized with the Razer Chroma RGB gaming lighting system. That is, the color of the browser will automatically adjust to the color of the lighting of the system unit or the game keyboard, if any. There is also a non-switchable GX Corner tab, which accumulates a variety of news from the game world. There are also features of the classic Opera, such as a built-in VPN, an ad blocker.
According to the developers, work on Opera GX has not yet been completed. The current early version is designed with the most hardcore gamers in mind, but future versions will allow more customization of the browser.
