So, if you have already managed to throw away the packaging (and the stapler is supplied in a simple blister), then it will be unpleasant. And the guarantee here will not be superfluous, the quality of the stapler, alas, is floating: the new stapler from Bosch pleases someone for a long time, and for someone it wears out quickly, like cheaper models from “second-tier brands”.

Because of such a lottery, we cannot give him a high score. But in fairness, we note that it is still made better than many common «lever».

The light alloy stapler is designed to accept A-type staples (6, 8, 10, 12, 14 mm) and J-type studs (12, 15 mm). For ergonomics, we immediately give him a five: a heavy pistol fits perfectly in the hand, the handle is rubberized inside, the lever is smooth and does not overload the brush, so you can work with it for a long time without discomfort. At the same time, the impact force is very decent: the stapler does not finish 14-mm staples only when working with hardwoods, but in normal work scenarios, the impact force does not even have to be unscrewed “to the maximum”. Force adjustment is simple and convenient — a flag in the back of the case. In general, this staple gun involuntarily resembles a “real” pistol, one has only to insert a magazine into it: for each press we get a clear “shot”, without interruptions and staple jams.

But only at first: in principle, in itself, “Light Duty” in the title hints that the gun is not intended for high loads of professional use (otherwise it would be “heavy duty”). Over time, with active use, problems inevitably begin with both shortfalls and “chewing” staples due to wear on the mechanism.

An inexpensive stapler with a metal case and adjustable impact force, which can be forgiven for assembly flaws and possible breakdowns, if only for the price: much cheaper! By the way, they didn’t spare the metal in it — it even weighs a little more than the Bosch. The stapler works only with staples of type 53 — perhaps this is now the most popular size, so there will always be work for Stayer. In addition, it works with both short 4mm and long 14mm — just tweak the blow.

Its reliability and quality are logical for this price. You shouldn’t expect a big resource from him, although even here you can get lucky: the Chinese random is like that. But, at least for home use, it will last for a long time, and professionals with large amounts of work will still prefer a power tool.

A very easy-to-use stapler — the Bosch people usually work seriously on ergonomics, so even though this is a “green” and not a “blue” series, Bosch is able to please. The DuoTac mechanism used here allows you to switch from single staples to double staples with the flick of a switch. The impact force regulator is conveniently located, it is always accessible to a free hand. The handle is with a high-quality vibration-protective pad. In addition, the stapler is also very light for its class — 1.1 kg with an empty magazine.

Staples are used «fifty-thirds», and the stapler can also work with nails. Its performance is at a good level — 30 beats per minute, well, if we are talking about working with double staples, then it will definitely outperform staplers that do not have a similar «double strike» capability.

The level of vibration and noise during operation is moderate, with prolonged use the stapler does not tire. True, keep in mind that he needs to regularly give «smoke breaks» — this is directly indicated in the instructions.

A five-year warranty for a Chinese tool manufactured in the Celestial Empire for the “in-house” brand of the 220 Volt chain of stores is already curious. Although, if you expect to use a stapler «for all the money», then Tesla will clearly not be the best choice: although the declared maximum length of staples and nails is up to 25 mm, it is really better to limit yourself to «twenties», especially when working with hard wood. And do not forget about the quality of the power supply: a two-kilowatt motor is sensitive to voltage drops, which it creates in a weak network. And the motor with the mechanism is decently noisy: under 96 dB (A), and this is really a lot.

The stapler sits well in the hand, from obvious miscalculations in ergonomics, only the impact force regulator thrust under the power cord immediately catches the eye. Well, well, well … Yes, we have before us the twin brother of Tesla, which differs in appearance only in colors! And the power is the same — 2 kilowatts.

However, the differences between these two models are not only in the color of the plastic and the name. The Zubr noticeably loses in the “rate of fire” — its mechanism provides only 20 beats per minute, not 30. The stapler itself is almost 500 grams lighter, so the suspicion immediately creeps in that the manufacturer saved on metal, and reduced the frequency to reduce the load on parts blows. As a result, the “twins”, although they look like the same person, have a different character. Tesla TES2000 will allow you to work much faster, and it will hammer staples into the same material more than the Zubr, despite the similar power. They are equally sensitive to voltage drops.

The Zubr’s impact force regulator also works worse — the impact force can begin to “float” noticeably, which Tesla does not allow itself. If we take into account the difference in prices, then it clearly makes sense to add money: that is why Zubr gets the last place with us.

Well, since Makita does not make a universal stapler for staples and nails, and you have to work with the latter more often, then this model may be of interest. The stapler is designed for 0.6 mm nails with a length of 15 to 35 mm. A useful feature is the presence of a backlight, which can greatly facilitate work in poor lighting conditions.

The choice of batteries is not very logical: instead of the increasingly used 18-volt lithium-ion batteries, the PT354DZ uses 12-volt and 10.8-volt ones of the owner’s choice (they are not included in the kit, of course). On 18-volt batteries, especially with a capacity of 5 A * h, the autonomy of work would be better: for any type of battery, the real (and not passport) capacity is inversely proportional to the discharge current, and at a higher operating voltage with equal power, the current is correspondingly lower.

One thing to say “thank you” for is the convenience of adjusting the driving depth. If the DST221Z uses a nut for this, here it is a large knurled head that can be easily adjusted with your fingers.

This model also specializes exclusively in driving pins. The stapler is designed for 1.2 mm nails and is able to “scribble” at almost machine gun speed: it empties a magazine of 105 nails in less than a minute. The length of the nails is from 16 to 55 mm.

An 18 volt battery (again, they are not included in the kit) is used quite sparingly. Four ampere-hours is enough to drive about 1400 nails. For efficiency, we say “thank you” to the brushless motor, which, moreover, will not require any maintenance during operation.

The stapler has two adjustments. At the end of the «motor-percussion mechanism» block, a flag switch for coarse force adjustment is installed, at the bottom — a handwheel for fine adjustment of the immersion depth. The stapler holds the setting well, without accidental «non-finishing» or «interrupting». There is also an operating mode switch, imperceptible at first glance — it, perhaps, by a weapon analogy, can be called a «fire translator». In the first position of the switch, for driving each nail, you need to separately press the shutter button, in the second position, the stapler switches to the “automatic shooting” mode while the key is held down, and the stapler itself is pressed against a hard surface.

Ergonomics is also not satisfactory. The tool is perfectly balanced, rubber slips have microgrooving. True, the weight of the stapler is too big — 2.7 kg, and this is without a battery (and the dimensions are appropriate), with prolonged use, especially on vertical surfaces, the hand will get tired.

Against the backdrop of the monstrous AEG, the “green” Bosch, designed for “fifty-third” brackets with a length of up to 10 mm, looks like a real toy — well, it was made with an eye on easier work. And he himself is not heavy at all — only 800 grams.

The stapler striker makes 30 strokes per minute. Unfortunately, there is no adjustment of the impact force — Bosch does not hide the fact that this model is designed only for soft wood. This is largely due to the low power of the engine, and this, in turn, is a direct consequence of the choice of using a single lithium-ion cell with a voltage of 3.6 V, its capacity is 1.3 ampere-hours. The inability to quickly replace a dead battery is another indication of the amateur class of the tool.

For charging, a bundled 5-volt adapter is used, but instead of the logical use of the USB port (it would have withstood the charging current with a margin — phones have even more), there is a regular coaxial DC plug. It takes about 5 hours to fully charge.

The stapler is comfortable in work — a good grip, rubberized grips on the handles, and the light weight is also “in the subject”. But, of course, if you intend to use the stapler often, then it is better to choose a professional model.
